Mexico Champions Celebrate Gold Cup 2015 Victory Against Jamaica

Mexico is crowned champion of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 3-1 dominated win against Jamaica.

The Aztecs won the final match of the Gold Cup against the Reggae Boyz with goals by Guardado, Corona and Peralta score for Mexico and Mattocks discounted a goal for Jamaica.

The Jamaican team had an initial offensive game where they had two clear shots for goal; however, Mexico started attacking early after to reign a relentless attack and set the conditions of the match in the Lincoln Financial Field of Philadelphia.

The second and third goal of the Mexican national team were gifts given by the Jamaican national defensive players. Too many errors committed for a final match. Jamaica did not perform the same as seen through the tournament. The early goal gave Mexico the confidence and Jamaica never recovered. The Jamaican national football team had an outstanding Gold Cup performance that defeated the United States.

Mexico takes the lead with this seventh title of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament today. The United States national team has six titles and lost to Panama in penalties to take fourth of the tournament. Mexico will face the United States on October 9, 2015 to determine who will represent CONCACAF in the 2017 Confederations Cup.

Andres Guardado Put Mexico 1-0 Lead

Goal by Andres Guardado at minute 31′ with a left foot shoot to the angle of the goal and that’s when Mexico started becoming the owner of the final match.

Corona Scored Early Second Half Goal

Jesus Corona, player for the Dutch club Twente, stole the ball and found the back of the net with an impossible left foot for the Jamaican goalkeeper at minute 47′. Oribe Peralta scored the third at minute 61 to put the match away and win the seventh Gold Cup title for the Mexican National Team.

Jamaica minute 80′ Darren Mattocks #11 who represented the Jamaican team well in the tournament scored a late goal. Unfortunately, the beautifully executed goal after taking on three defensive players and Ochoa was a little too late in the match.

Golden Ball & Golden Boot Awards

Andres Guardado received the Golden Ball award following the final match. The award goes to the most valuable and outstanding player of the tournament. Guardado was spectacular in the tournament and his controversial penalties put Mexico in the Gold Cup Final.

  Clint Dempsey was given the golden boot of the tournament, even though his national team placed fourth. The award goes to the player with the most goals in the tournament. Dempsey led the score board with 7 goals in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament. The United States will face Mexico on October 9 for the golden ticket to the Confederations Cup
